Begin Where You Are
& Healing Will Follow.
Hi, I’m Kemper Gottshall.
This is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and begin listening to what your mind and body have been saying. To move with curiosity and care toward what needs attention, creating space for healing and a steadier sense of self.
I specialize in PTSD, addictions, men’s issues, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, codependency, and grief.
My Approach
Supportive
In our work together, I draw from approaches like Internal Family Systems, attachment theory, and mindfulness. These ways of working help us understand the different parts of you that hold pain, fear, or strength, and how they try to protect you. We also explore how early attachments shape the way you connect with the world today. Using tools such as visualization, somatic scanning and engagement with our parts, we build awareness of your inner world and deepen your ability to notice and care for what arises. Through this process, we begin to soften old patterns, heal and strengthen your capacity to feel grounded, connected, and at peace.
Collaborative
I bring a collaborative and engaging presence in my work with you. My approach integrates several therapeutic methods to help you develop awareness, become more present, and begin looking at what has been causing pain from a place of safety and self compassion. Together, we will explore the patterns that have kept you feeling stuck while strengthening the parts of you that already know how to heal. My approach is grounded in evidence based theory and guided by deep respect for your lived experience.

About Me
I have worked in the mental health field since 2015, supporting individuals in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. I believe deeply in the power of collaborative talk therapy to create meaningful, lasting change.
As a cisgender white male, I stay mindful of the privilege I hold and work to create a space that feels safe, equal, and empowering for every person I work with. My background in filmmaking and yoga continues to shape how I listen with curiosity, presence, and care. Outside of therapy, I practice a life of simplicity; hiking with my wife and our dog Milo, practicing yoga, meditating, and woodworking.
"Thank you Kemper for your professionalism, analytical skills, intelligence and so much more. But thank you most of all for your care and compassion. I can see that you genuinely care for others.”
